FAQ

The weather is bad should I still come?

The experience is an indoor experience so the weather does not affect our event. You will only be in the outdoors when you are getting onto the train – the Elf Express and disembarking the train to the Outpost. Finally when you are finished you will be walking to your car so bring suitable clothing for the weather.

Can I change the date and time of my ticket?

We can change the date and time of your tickets but we need a minimum of 24 hours notice. A 5 Euro change of booking fee applies. Tickets can not be changed later than 24 hours in advance of the day of your booking.

What will we wear?

The experience is mainly indoors – but hey it’s December – dress warm! A comfortable pair of shoes is essential and a warm coat to keep you warm on the Elf Express

I am having trouble booking online is there a problem with the website?

Our booking engine and website are taking bookings. However we have noticed that people using old versions of the browser Internet Explorer are having difficulty booking. If you are unable to see our booking dates or unable to book try changing your browser to Google Chrome or Safari. If you are still unsuccessful call us at 021 2428868 or email: headelf@northpolecork.com.

I want to have a larger number of people in my booking but it won't allow me to select more?

We limit each time slot to 20 people approx. so you might be selecting a time that is nearly full. Try another time or date or call our booking line at 021 2428868 and we will select a time that is available for you.

I would like Santa to give my children a personal message is this possible?

Our experience is really quite different. It is a fully interactive 75 minute experience that allows families to interact personally with all the elves, Mrs Claus and Santa. If you have a personal message for Santa we ask you to mention this to one of our elves in Santa’s room. We can not always guarantee that the message will be passed on by our elves but we will certainly do our very best to help! Unfortunately we can not communicate messages left on the “comments” section of our online booking form.

Is the Outpost ASD Friendly?

Our experience offers an ASD friendly time on December 2nd and 8th. These bookings can only be booked over the phone 021 242 8868, prebooking is essential. For our ASD friendly time, we have a booklet outlining our experience so you can prepare for your visit. Please find it on our ASD Friendly page, ready to download. We also make a number of adjustments to the experience to make the Outpost more suitable to your family’s needs. This is detailed in our booklet. We welcome all guide and assistance dogs. For further information contact 021 242 8868 or email bookings@northpolecork.com

Will we meet Santa?

OH Yes!

Will we meet Santa as a group or individually as a family?

Our experience is not like a regular visit to Santa! We are an interactive Elf Experience where the Elves and their work in The Outpost is a big part of your visit. You will of course meet Santa but as a group. Here Santa will give each group a very special message about the real meaning of Christmas. After this each family will go up to Santa and get a chance to tell them their Christmas wish and get their photo taken. After this each child will visit the Toy Shop where they will get to select their own toy as a special gift from Santa.

Will there be a present?

If you’re good

Will we get to keep what we make in the workshop?

Yes. In the workshop every child will make a piece of craft. This year it will be a christmas decoration that every child can bring home as a keepsake of their visit to The Cork Northpole Outpost

Can we take photos?

Yes – you are most welcome to take your own photos or videos. There will also be an Elf photographer on hand and these photos will cost an additional €10 but this is totally optional.

Is the photograph included in the ticket price?

No – Our Elf photographer will be on hand to take photographs that will cost €10 for one and €15 for two but this is totally optional. You are most welcome to take your own photos or videos.

What else should we bring?

Your letter for Santa if you wish to post it at the Elf post office, and of course your booking reference

Is this an open event? Can I buy tickets on arrival?

Unfortunately, No! The Cork North Pole Outpost Experience is a theatrical production and therefore has limited capacity. For each booking time only a few families can enter our magical Elf world. The Elves make sure we do it this way so you can have time with Santa, Mrs Claus and the Elves at the Outpost (when they are not busy making toys…!). Each tour leaves every 15 minutes and can only be booked in advance online or on the Elf telephone.

Why do adults pay for a ticket?

The Cork North Pole Outpost Experience is an immersive theatrical experience for the whole family to enjoy together. Much like going to see a performance in the theatre there is a charge for adults. As well as the theatrical experience adults will also receive a yummy hot drink and a tasty treat from Mrs Claus’ kitchen! We very much encourage adults to get involved and become part of an experience that will celebrate the magic of a child’s belief in Father Christmas and create memories for all the family.

Can I bring my baby?

Of course! Babies are classified as a child under the age of 12 months. Please note that a baby ticket does not include participation in any of the activities or qualify for a gift. Please enter your baby’s name during the booking process as Santa can sometimes be forgetful.

Can I make a group booking?

We are happy to discuss group bookings with you. Please email HeadElf@NorthpoleCork.com.

The experience finishes after 90 minutes. We are happy to recommend a number of venues to bring your group should you wish to make a day of it – please contact us for more information.

Is there a restaurant at the Outpost?

Unfortunately not. We will however provide each visitor with a hot drink and cookie from Mrs Claus’ kitchen. Step outside our magical world and Cobh is just 5 minutes away with lots of great restaurants for families.

Can we come early?

We advise families arriving just 15 mins before their booking time. Facilities are extremely limited in our wooded waiting area so please try not to arrive too early.

Is there a charge for parking?

No. Parking is Free.

What if we arrive late for our booking?

Every visitor is scheduled in to a pre-arranged programme of activities therefore late arrival will result in a family forfeiting the earliest sessions of their experience. Please don’t call the Elves at The Cork North Pole Outpost Experience if you are running late. Simply inform your greeter on arrival and they will organise for you to join your tour party at the next stage of their tour itinerary.

What happens if the Outpost can't open?

In the unfortunate event of extreme weather conditions, if the Outpost is unable to open it’s doors, a full refund will be provided to all bookings for that time and or date.

Can I cancel my booking and receive a refund?

In the unfortunate event that you can’t make it to The Outpost, if you cancel more than seven days before your booking date we will be delighted to provide you with a full refund. If you need to cancel less than seven days and up to 24 hours before your booking time we will offer a full credit note (in tickets only) to you or a 50% refund. All tickets are also transferable. Just email HeadElf@NorthpoleCork.com.

Can I change the date or time of my booking?

Yes of course. Just call our helpline at 021 2428868 or email HeadElf@NorthpoleCork.com. Please note an administration charge of 5 Euros applies.  Date changes are subject to availability. A minimum of 24 hours notice is required.

Is the event wheelchair accessible?

The house is fully wheelchair accessible. The Elf Express will assist in seating you onto the train but will require the wheelchair to be folded. If this is not suitable we can accommodate you driving to the front door of The Outpost to begin your experience. Just email HeadElf@NorthpoleCork.com if you have any other queries.
